Micro-Mesh
A fine stainless screen fastened flush across the top of the gutter. Water passes through; even small debris like pine needles and palm fiber stays out. The right default for most LA homes.
Reverse-Curve
Uses surface tension to pull water around a curved nose and into the gutter while leaves and larger debris fall off the front edge. Sheds heavy leaf loads well but can overflow in the hardest winter storms.
